Kenny Floyd is a native of Anderson, South Carolina. Floyd, now based in Charlotte where he has built a large following on the club circuit, has out a new CD entitled, “Water.” The project was born out of Kenny's driving desire to have an outlet to perform his original music.
"I love to perform,” says Floyd, who will be doing an acoustic set at BalloonFest prior to Needtobreathe taking the Amphitheater stage. “No matter if it is playing covers or playing originals, I love to do it.”
Floyd, performing over 200 shows per year, has already shared the stage with national artists such as Vertical Horizon, Lostprophets, Hoobastank, Lifehouse, The Wallflowers, and 3 Doors Down, and even hit a side stage at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Charlotte for a Toby Keith concert.
The Amphitheater located at the Anderson Sports & Entertainment Center is named after Kenny’s late father, William A. Floyd.
“Kenny Floyd's CD, ‘Water,’ is a 10-tune collection of rock/metal pop tunes that, for at least one tune, dips into cross-over country territory without losing its guts and raw rock power. The production is tremendous and the talented vocalist, Floyd, hits paydirt with the effort.” – Review by www.EarBuzz.com. |
